about us
Hi, I’m Pete from Pete drums.
I have a background in carpentry, joinery and furniture manufacture. Illness and allergies from pollution in the industry made me move through many lines of work and I became very conscious of our connection between body and spirit. I have spent years cabinet making, welding, organic market gardening and teaching environmental education to school children. I was always searching for different creative outlets, until 20 years ago I found myself drawn to making drums and creating spin art. As well as drum making and painting I like to experiment with different art forms including dream catchers and photography as well as creating unique tumbled wood and resin beads and buttons. As with my drums I use as many recycled and salvaged materials as possible to lessen my impact on mother earth. My work can be seen at gallery exhibitions and festivals such as Womad, where I have had a stall for the last fifteen years; I am also available to hold drum making workshops where you can view my drums as well as make your own. My artworks are also available on Redbubble. Please feel free to email me for any enquiries.
